During the past six months Adam has been evolving! As President of Music Montaj Inc., he’s been planning, changing and adjusting to find ways to propel this organization of very talented singers and musicians to the forefront of the music industry. Strides continue to be made, as he gains support from some very close friends and colleagues who believe in him and all he attempts to accomplish. A vital part of that will be relinquishing certain administrative duties of the company & focusing primarily on being the performance artist he’s always desired to be.
Being recognized for his accomplishments, Adam was recently elected to the Board of Governors of the Atlanta Chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS). As a member of the Chapter Board, Adam assists in the responsibilities of reflecting the changing trends, issues and needs of the NARAS membership and helping to address those needs. Also, at a time when NARAS is reaching out to the Independent Label community, gives him a much better insight and access to avenues of an effective knowledge base and assistance in becoming a success in the music industry.
It is official...Atlanta now has its own jazz photography icon--The Jazz of the City Atlanta 2007! Presented by Jazz 91.9 WCLK-FM and featuring more than 100 metro Atlanta jazz musicians with Mayor Shirley Franklin, the unveiling of this momentous image marked a great day in Atlanta jazz history! Adam McKnight & William Green of Music Montaj Inc. both appear in this historic photo!
Similar to the iconic 1930’s jazz portrait-A Great Day in Harlem, The Jazz of the City Atlanta 2007 jazz portrait will be memorialized as postcards and posters. The portrait will be available for purchase through Jazz 91.9's web site, WCLK (www.wclk.com).
Adam has also successfully formed his new band “Adam McKnight & High Impact” and is in the process of completing video and audio editing for promotional distribution.
We have decided to postpone the live CD/DVD concert until further notice. In order to effectively produce the type of show Adam desires & help to raise the funds for the Youth Ensemble he would like, additional funding will be necessary. Plans will continue to be modified and sponsorships pursued to make the event happen.
On the creative side, Adam has recently spent some serious time with his muse, and is now writing new material for his next CD!
